Goodbye and Good Luck!
Tuesday 22nd July 2014

Today marks a very special day in the Crosby calendar, the end of term and the last day we'll see our Y6s. We wish them all well and hope they build upon what they've learnt during their time with us.  A special well done and pat on the back goes to the 100% club who came in every school day this year.  Well done Mohammed, Tasnim, Adrianna, Courtney, Shohidul, Ishrat, Aminur, Maaje and Ryan.

See the rest of you on Thursday 4th September! Until then, take care and have fun.

A Day At The Seaside
Friday 18th July 2014

Although we were promised scorching hot weather today, it looks decidedly overcast this lunch time. But that didn't stop Mrs Winter and the other Lunch Time Heros serving us up all a plate of summer fun.

A Day At The Seaside saw us able to chose from Fish/Veggie sausage and chips, with an icecream or fruit for pudding - thanks team!

Y6 and The Great Outdoors
Wednesday 17th July 2014

Year 6 spent the day at The Oaks, Nettleton.  The activity was both a chance to have fun, say farewell to our much loved Year 6 and unwind after a year of hard work and endeavour.  Everyone enjoyed exploring the woods, tree swings, campfire sing-alongs – and Mrs Winter’s flapjacks!

A Day With The Red Arrows
Tuesday 02nd July 2014

On the 13th June, ten 'Always' children from Year 5 were chosen to spend the day at RAF Scampton.

We spent the day as VIP guests, being taught about the Hawk aircraft, and having a personal tour of the hangars. The Red Arrow team then put on a full display especially for us! It was a special day none of us will forget.

Proceeds from the sale of the tea-towels will go to Crosby Children’s Outdoor Play Project (CCOPPs)

Friday 20th June 2014

Year 6 took control and organised an absolutely brilliant fayre this morning. They thought up, designed and made games, competitions, crafts, foods and organised a lot of adults.

The result was a fantastic event enjoyed by the whole school, which raised money for both the Y6 trip and CCOPPs (Crosby Children's Outdoor Play Project) - Good Work Y6!

Y4 Go On The Wild Side
Wednesday 4th / Monday 9th June 2014

The whole of Year 4 got back to nature this month visiting Far Ings Nature Reserve in Barton Upon-Humber.

This National Nature Reserve was once an open clay pit before being flooded to create habitats for some of the countries rarest birds, mammals and invertebrates.

You can watch as Y4 learn about habitats, freshwater creatures and a whole lot more on their year page

Balloon Race
Friday 22nd May 2014

Today as a fund raising event for CCOPPs (Crosby Children's Outdoor Play Project) we released many balloons as part of a balloon race competition.  Children were selected because they'd sold the most balloons or were general amazing superstars, and were asked to put their name on a golden ticket to be attached to a balloon and released.  The balloon that travels the furthest wins a Toys R Us voucher for the finder and the boy or girl who sent it.  Altogether we raised £180.

Spring Chickens!

Congratulations to all of lower school on the birth of their first chick!  At the start of the month FHW and FP started incubating 12 chicken eggs, this morning saw the hatching of the first Crosby chicken. We'll keep you updated on the rest.

Just got to think of some names now, any suggestions?

Street Beat (www.streetbeatdance.com) visited us today and gave a free teaching session for some of us to learn some essential Street Dance skills.

If you think your child might be interested in an after-schools club to develop some greater dance skills, then we'll be happy to hear from you.

Some of Year Four have been writing book reviews to tell people about their favourite books. They also hope to guide you to books you may like. They would like to encourage more people to read and have enjoyed sharing their ideas and reading experiences in their own forum.

These are a few examples of their work.

Mmmmm Smoothie
Friday 7th February 2014

Year 5 were asked to design, write, perform and produce their own radio adverts for their own brand of fruit smoothie.

The adverts needed to be descriptive, informative, interesting but most of all catchy - Crosby takes no responsibility if you're still humming these tunes in 2 week’s time!

Listen to the adverts on the Y5 page

Operation Christmas Child is a project aiming to help relieve the suffering of children abroad who are homeless, live in orphanages, are without family support, or whose lives have been blighted by poverty, ill-health, natural disaster, conflict or war.
Thanks to parents' and children’s generosity here at Crosby, we’ve managed to collect a whopping 98 boxes for girls and boys across the world to make their Christmas this year a little bit more special.

This week saw the Foundation year visit the library, where the boys and girls heard brilliant stories, explored books, and experienced all the great facilities they have.  Everyone went home with their very own Book Bag and books to keep.  Many thanks to all the staff at the library for their help and the people at booktime.org.uk
