Crosby Egyptologists!
Year 5 and 6 went to Hull to learn how about Egypt at the Hands on History Museum. they researched ancient Egyptian artefacts and learned how to make their own papyrus and about mummification!

Chinese New Year!
Calvin Taylor Lee came in to teach the Year 6 classes all about Chinese culture and what Chinese New Year means for him. He taught the children some Chinese and showed them how to write using calligraphy.

Easter Egg Competition 2019
Pupils from years 3,4,5 and 6 decorated eggs to enter a school egg decorating competition. It took place on Friday 5th April. There were some really fantastic designs and standards were very high. Designs included; Minecraft, Disney and even Crosby Primary School! Well done everyone.

A big thank you!
The Easter egg squares board has raised a massive £221! Thank you to everybody that bought squares and well done to all of the winners!
We would also like to thank Mrs Clixby and the other members of CCOPPs for their time preparing the squares board, selling squares and distributing the many egg prizes.

Easter Squares On Sale Now!
The Easter egg squares board is now ready. The squares are on sale for £1 a square. There are over 100 prizes to be won. Get in quick as these will sell out quickly!

Red Nose Day Silly Hair
Children at Crosby Primary School donated a silver coin and were allowed to wear a silly hair style for school.
The hairstyles were very creative and eyecatching with pupils using hair gel, glitter, coloured pipe cleaners, red noses, flowers, coloured hair spray and crimpers in their styles. A fantastic sum of £139.25 was raised for Comic Relief - well done everyone!

Disco - A Huge Success!
The Valentine's Day Disco was a huge success. Lots of children were able to come and dance the evening away while helping to raise almost £500 in the process! Well done everyone!

Read to a Parent
The Read to a Parent event took place this week in year 1/2. Children chose a book to read to their parents.

Valentine's Disco
Thursday 14th February 2019
4pm - 5.30pm
F1,F2 and Years 1 and 2 children must be accompanied by an adult during the disco.
Years 3,4, 5 and 6 must be collected promptly at 5.30pm.
Sweets, crisps, drinks, popcorn, ice cream and hot dogs will be on sale.

Chinese New Year
Year 3/4 and the New To English children have been making dragons and decorated plates for Chinese New Year. They have made some fabulous creations! Well done!
They are now on display in the wing.

Read to a Bear
Key Stage 1 love reading! They especially enjoyed bringing their bears from home to school to share a special book together. Watch out for lots more exciting reading events this year!

Shelter Building
As part of our Stone Age and early cultures topic, year 3/4 got to go on a trip to Normanby Hall. While we were there, we learnt all about the resources available to the people living in the Stone Age and spent the morning constructing our own Stone Age huts using only the things that we found on the woodland floor. Children and staff all had a brilliant morning and we all created some fantastic huts.

100% Attendance Heros
This half term there have been 246 children who have attended school every day!
There were 163 Key Stage 2 children and 83 Key Stage 1 children.
Rachael from Vision Education came and awarded certificates to Key Stage 1 children and then one child from each class won the half-termly prize! Congratulations to Alexandra, Rowand, Isabella, Franisa and Elijah.
Key Stage 2 children will be awarded their prizes and certificates termly.

Harvest Festival Donation
Staff and pupils at Crosby Primary School would like to say a very big thank you to everyone that donated food for the Harvest Festival.
It was lovely to see all of your kind donations together. The donated food will go to the Scunthorpe Food Bank.

Normanby Park Visit
The children from Ash Class had great fun Shelter Building at Normanby Park as part of the 'Where the Wild Things Are' topic this month.

Biscuit Sales
Biscuits will go on sale on Thursday 11th October. They are 40p each or 3 for £1.
The kitchen staff have been hard at work making lots of biscuits which are to be sold in classrooms during the day. If stocks hold out, biscuits will be sold on the playground after school. You will need to be quick though as they usually sell out!
All proceeds will go to Crosby Children Outdoor Play Project (CCOPP).
